Background

In 1973, Radio 2TM decided that the Australia Day weekend was the best time for Australia’s first Country Music Awards. Despite a few pessimists the Awards took off. In the years that followed a string of new activities were developed, which are still the backbone of the Festival, creating an event now recognized as one of the top ten music festivals in the world.

While music is at the heart of the 10-day Festival, it's the fascinating combination of welcoming locals, friendly visitors, summer holiday atmosphere and non-stop music. You can hear every type of outback country music in every type of venue from the giant Tamworth Regional Entertainment & Conference Centre to clubs, theatres, and of course outdoor stages in welcoming parks. The festival is pure Australian. Tamworth, Australia is the place to experience pure outback culture, lifestyle, and traditions.

Join Tafari and Australian Luxury Escapes, the official U.S. based purveyors of the Tamworth Country Music Festival, as well as thousands of others as we stroll down the city's tree lined main thoroughfare, Peel Street, just as Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley and Keith Urban did as youngsters and as festival performers.

Guests of Tafari and Australian Luxury Escapes will be escorted on an exclusive 11 day itinerary through Australia that includes a private welcome party in Sydney, an authentic Cattle Drome experience, a visit to the Blue Mountains, boutique wineries, 4 days of access to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and 2 days along the beautiful coastlines of Port Macquarie.
